Sitting is the New Smoking...
“More than 5 hours SITTING at a time is the EQUIVALENT OF SMOKING A PACK OF CIGARETTES!" says Dr. David Agus head of USC's cancer center, CBS News Contributor & author of The End of Illness. Balance is key - everyone needs some rest, but what time do you sit down to watch TV & what time do you finish and go to bed? How long are you sitting at the computer? Looking at your IPhone? Reading? Every inactive hour is correlated with increased risk for all disease types, so just be aware. As we talk about in class, change your attitude to gratitude every time something interrupts you and you have to get up - it's adding years to your life! (Parents - this is great news, right?!)
